Turnips
Turnips
Turnips are closely related by familial ties to radishes and mustards. Boasting a cylindrical build with a spinning-top shape, these vegetables marvelously shine with a purple to white color gradient. The fleshy inside is soft and sweet when cooked and can taste similar to eggplant. It is well paired with either lotus root or any variety of lentil soup. Like many other root vegetables, turnips are full of vitamin C, dietary fiber, and folate. When it is ready for pulling in a home garden, the top will be covered in greens.
