Peas
Peas
Also called sweet peas or sugar snap peas, are sweet spheres embedded within a cocoon-like green jacket. These peas are inclined to growth on climbing plants, and compared to the other dominant branch of peas, snow peas, are more tender. The best way to eat sweet peas is to boil, steam, or sauté, although it can also be eaten raw with the pod jacket. Since snap peas require colder climates, they are often seeded in late winter or early spring. They provide benefits from dietary fiber, protein, Vitamin C, Vitamin B3 (niacin), and beta carotene (which incites the production of Vitamin A.
