Residing in the brassica family of vegetables, cauliflower if very closely related to broccoli, kale, and cabbage. The physique of the cauliflower is iconic: with rounded heads and opaque flowers, the vegetable truly resembles a sponge or cloud. In order to grow cauliflower, select a moist, cool climate. The inherent tree shape of the vegetable is visible when the head is sliced in half. Upon further cutting, the tree buds, otherwise called curds, can be used in salads or in stir-fry. Cauliflower is densely packed with Vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, and Vitamin K. It is low in calories as an added bonus.
