Community outreach & Marketing project

Jonathan is a current senior at Metea Valley High School. He is passionate about discovering ways to ensure peers and community members have the resources they need to reach their potential. In the community, Jonathan led an Eagle Project of 40 volunteers who assisted in creating and donating several dozen specialty blankets and books to Rush Copley patients. Jonathan currently volunteers on the Junior Board of Young Hearts for Life (YH4L), which provides life-saving electrocardiogram screening for young adults in Illinois. Beyond healthy hearts, Jonathan feels singing/songwriting and humor mends the heart. On the Metea Speech Team, he conveyed meaningful messages through comedic scripts, leading to State medals in two comedy categories. At Metea, he uses his voice to advocate for students by serving as the Executive Board Class Representative and the Co-President of the Principal Advisory Board (PAB). Valuing communication and cooperation, Jonathan recently assisted in a service opportunity that combined the efforts of PAB and the OLI Gardens in distributing plants at Naper Settlement. There, he met OLI's President, Fred Greenwood, and is now thrilled to contribute with his fellow interns to the OLI mission of improving lives through healthy, sustainable solutions.
