What is a 501(c)(3) organization?
A type of organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code. This allows for federal tax exemption of nonprofit organizations, specifically those that are considered public charities, private foundations or private operating foundations.
Are gifts/donations tax deductible?
Yes, the OLI Gardens is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, any gifts or donations are tax-deductible.


Why should donors trust this organization?
The OLI is made up of highly respected professionals as our Board of Directors. Donations are recorded by the CPA firm Chawla and Associates. OLI is registered with the Attorneys General's office in the State of Illinois.
In what ways will a donor's money contribute to OLI?
Funds from donors will be used for our operating budget! Giving raised garden beds, ready to use and information on how to use them to organizations and the general public through the Northern Illinois Food Bank. A progressive website and produce from our garden plots

What can I expect after donating?
A personal thank -you and a tax exempt letter.
